The new building, will be home to many of the acute and critical care services at Canberra Hospital, including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, operating theatres and some inpatient wards.
Register your spot, to get a firsthand look at how your critical health services are delivered, and where lifesaving work is done.
Time: 9am-4pm, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June 2024.
Location: Critical Services Building – Building 5 at Canberra Hospital, Garran.
Duration: Each tour will go for 45 minutes.
The critical services building is a huge 44,000m2 nine storey facility – that is equivalent to over six rugby fields. We won’t have time to take you through the whole facility, but some of the things you will get to see will include:
- the design and features setting the standard for health facilities in the future
- the state of the art clinical equipment improving efficiency in theatres and patient safety outcomes
- the large, bright, open spaces designed to make people feel welcome and comfortable
- the artwork, specially created to weave into the fabric of the building
- the terraces and outdoor spaces which give our patients the ability to spend time outdoors and have access to green spaces and other forms of nature.
Registration is FREE and bookings are essential.
We look forward to welcoming you and showcasing our state-of-the-art facility.
