Namadgi Sky (2019) by Lynnice Church, a local Aboriginal woman of the Ngunnawal, Wiradjuri and Kamilaroi people of NSW and the ACT, has been wrapped around the CT scanner.

Canberra Hospital’s Medical Imaging service has been extended to the new Weston Creek Medical Imaging Service. It’s the first time a publicly funded imaging service has been made available outside of the hospital campus.
To use the CT and Ultrasound services, you need to send your referral and make an appointment through the Canberra Hospital Imaging Service at Canberra Hospital. However, for X-rays you can walk into the Weston Creek Imaging Service and if an appointment is available they will do the X-ray for you on the spot.
Referrals for this service can be from your General Practitioner, Specialist, Allied Health Professional, or for X-rays only, a Nurse Practitioner at a Walk-in Centre.
The imaging service is safe and welcoming, and it accommodates the needs of our diverse community, including people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. This service also has the right links with other primary and community-based health settings, including the general practice community. All of this creates the patient-centred care we strive for.
But the standout is the artwork within the building that beautifully reflects the Indigenous community of Weston Creek and its surrounding areas. When people walk into this centre, they’re greeted by a painting on canvas called Namadgi Sky (2019) by Lynnice Church, a local Aboriginal woman of the Ngunnawal, Wiradjuri and Kamilaroi people of NSW and the ACT. Added to this, Namadgi Sky has been professionally wrapped around the CT scanner so that instead of being surrounded by a clinical white machine, our patients are instead immersed in the imagery of Namadgi Sky in the Brindabellas.
