In a life threatening emergency dial Triple Zero (000)

Here at Canberra Health Services, research is part of what we do. We know that excellence in teaching, training and research leads to exceptional health care. Research is integral to improve patient care, including diagnoses, treatments and disease prevention strategies.

Canberra Health Services is committed to continuously grow our research activities and partner with academic, community and industry organisations to get the best possible results.

In December 2021, Canberra Health Services launched its first Research Strategy 2021-25 (PDF, 2785.85 KB) for the organisation.

The strategy provides the blueprint to drive impactful research led by CHS teams over the next four years. Our vision is to “create an inclusive research community, which aims to deliver exceptional healthcare”.

There are 6 strategic commitments that underpin the strategy addressing:

  1. governance and processes
  2. workforce
  3. research support environment
  4. academic and industry partnerships
  5. consumer and community partnerships
  6. communications

Exciting research updates and achievements are regularly posted on our news and social media pages.

If you are interested in finding out what research is happening in the area of our hospital that you are treated in, please speak to your treating team at CHS about their research and quality improvement activities.
